The first course of this degree is facilitated with a free online MOOC. The degree’s program is structured in 3 semesters and with completion of each are rewarded with 30 ECTS.
It is known for its emphasis on modern digital technology and made headlines to become the first University for accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment for tuition. It is also the first University to offer a full graduate degree program in blockchain and digital currency technology.
2. Princeton University, USA
It is a private research university based in New Jersey and is known for its innovative approach. It is a free course consisting of 11 weeks of online material but at the completion of the course, it does not provide any certification. It comprises of 12 lecture videos and 11 lecture slides. This program was a course for the Princeton students during the Spring 2015 semester but is yet said to be very much relevant and valid for the present blockchain and crypto world.
Princeton is sharing its expertise through open courses like its Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technology program on Coursera.
3. Universidad Europea Madrid
Universidad Europea Madrid facilitates free course on Blockchain Technology and Bitcoin and the course is known as the Postgraduate Diploma in Bitcoin and Blockchain. The course requires a basic knowledge of Unix and Python languages and covers the concepts of Bitcoin, smart contracts, consensus systems, and distributed ledger.

Duke University facilitates course named “Blockchain and Innovation” for free of cost to its undergraduate students and is conducted by a selective group of professionals, students, and professors by the Duke Blockchain Lab which is pioneered by Duke University. Duke’s Blockchain Labs is a student-led research center that designs to bring interested students and faculty to the subject of Blockchain Technology. Meetups, talks, events, and seminars are organized to learn and discuss blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, cryptography and the uses cases for non-financial blockchain.
It also offers an online course for Fintech Law and Policy that can be allowed on Coursera for free of charge or to receive a certificate one has to pay $49 after passing the final quiz.
